52 Caliber, 32 1/2" barrel with a dark bore having still visible rifling. This is a "J.H. HALL/H. FERRY/1831" marked rifle, converted to percussion but still retaining the frizzen mounting brackets, and has an overall plum-brown patina with light, pinprick pitting at the nipple, and on the triggerguard. The long necked, replacement hammer utilizes the original hammer base with a new head and will only go to half cock. The stock has mottled gray metal bands and muzzlecap with an added oil finish over numerous small handling marks and blemishes, particularly along the toe of the butt. This is a neat Hall rifle, modified for use in the Civil War. (1958-96) {ANTIQUE} (1200/1600) SOLD FOR $1840.00
