Custom Remington Model 37 Target Rifle Stocked and Owned by Leonard Brownell

serial #05232, 22 LR, 28" barrel with an excellent bore. Barreled action retains about 98% nice quality hot immersion blue. The gun was custom barreled by gunsmith Ken Smith, the barrel is marked "22 LR/K.E.Smith". Purported by the consignor to be custom stocked by, and the personal firearm of Lenard Brownell. Gun is stocked in an English walnut, high comb with a rounded semi-rollover cheekpiece. Forearm has a near full-length aluminum handstop rail. Pistol grip and forearm show fabulous checkered panels. The pistol grip cap is a teardrop shaped rosewood, flat bottomed with a square maple inlay and a black ebony inlay depicting a rifle target. The gun is fitted with a grooved face aluminum butt with fold-down hook. The gun is drilled and tapped for steel target bases as well as steel open sight blocks. Custom embellishments include conversion to single shot, elongated curved bolt handle, and neat removal of the rifles manual safety. This is a superb conversion and a superb rifle.
