serial #626749, .22 Cal. centerfire (appears to be .222 Rem.), 25" stainless steel target weight Hart barrel with an excellent bore. The aluminum action sleeve is finished in-the-white, and is marked at its left rear edge "C.R. & P.J. Hart" the brushed finish stainless barrel shows only a few minor abrasions to its nice 400 grit finish. The crown remains excellent. The gun has been fitted with an RW Hart trigger. The barreled action sits in an excellent quality walnut laminate benchrest stock. The stock features a Remington ADL style triggerguard, and is bedded at its extreme rearmost point, the rear action tang. There are two other bedding points midway up and at the front of the action sleeve. The barrel is of course free-floating within the action sleeve and the stock. The stock itself rates excellent with only a minor ding or dent here and there. The action sleeve has been drilled and tapped for and wears Weaver bases which mount 1" high Weaver rings; they support a Leupold BR 24X telescope with adjustable objective, fine crosshair and dot reticle and excellent optics. This is a very attractive, high-quality benchrest rifle for those who still have a love for wood. As with any rifle of undetermined caliber, a competent gunsmith caliber determination and headspace check should be done. (2027-177) [Stan Terhune Collection] (1000/1500) SOLD FOR $1035.00
