serial #167, 22 RF, 10" part octagon barrel with an excellent bore. This is a minty little pistol. The barrel retains 90% plus original high luster blue finish with loss due to flaking on right side where metal has turned to pleasing smooth pewter colored patina. The frame is stunning retaining 98% vibrant original case colors with some slight mellowing on gripstraps. The left side of the frame is marked with the standard address. The hammer, breech pin and the hammer pin show vibrant original straw color. Trigger, pin retainer and most screws still exhibit lovely fire temper blue. Pistol is equipped with its original factory sights. The walnut grip and forend rate excellent with virtually all of their original finish remaining. The butt shows a hairline drying crack at its leading edge with a very minor chip missing at its rear edge. An exquisite and rare 19th century Remington target pistol.
