serial #K900, 45 Colt, 5 1/2" barrel with a virtually new bore. This revolver retains 99% of its original blue finish overall. Bill Grover, a student of Elmer Keith decided to honor him by improving his Number 5. The theory behind these revolvers was that the shooter, typically a right-hander, should never have to let the revolver leave the right hand to load and unload so to accommodate this, the loading gate and ejector rod are on the left side of the gun. The revolver is a flat top with a partridge front sight and adjustable rear. The grips are smooth walnut and rate excellent. Some other features are the shotgun style trigger and the grooved hammer, which is smooth forward of the serrations to allow for the thumb to slide smoothly and naturally when cocking. The top of the barrel is marked “GROVER’S IMPROVED NUMBER “FIVE”. This revolver has never been shot, the cylinder has only been turned three quarters of the way. This is a beautiful little revolver.
