serial #8050, 8mm, 24" barrel with a very good bore with crisp rifling showing frosting in the grooves. This "bnz./ (rune)/ 43" gun retains about 60% original blue finish with some scattered specks of surface oxidation present. The barrel and receiver feature eagle firing proofs. Barrel is marked "aa (steel manufacturer's symbol) Ru" and marked with a "WaA623" Waffenamt. The rear sight and base are numbered to the rifle and feature "WaA77" Waffenamts. The triggerguard is serial numbered to the rifle and is marked with a single rune and early "GERMANY" import mark. Upper and lower bands are mismatched. The laminate stock is in about good condition showing light handling marks but a drastic grain split through the butt. Stock shows Russian capture stamps and is a replacement. Bolt is from a foreign contract K98 but should be easily replaced with a more appropriate German example. Despite condition "Concentration Camp" single rune SS rifles are not often seen.
