Winchester Model 1885 Special Order High Wall Rifle

serial #33855, 45-70, 32" part round part octagon No. 4 weight barrel with a very good bright bore which shows just a little scattered light surface corrosion. This rifle is in a very unusual configuration. Special order features include uncheckered pistol grip walnut stocks, single set trigger, military style sling swivels and military windgauge rear and Lyman front sights. The condition of the rifle is quite nice with its barrel retaining about 80% evenly thinning original blue finish with some scattered light surface oxidation overall. The action retains 90% strong original case color also with some scattered light surface oxidation. The pistol grip walnut buttstock and forend rate excellent with 95% original finish remaining. Rifle comes with a factory letter which reads as follows: rifle, 45-70 caliber, barrel length: 32 inches, barrel shape: 1/2 octagon, #4, set trigger, plain pistol grip, sights: military windgauge and Lyman front, rod in butt, sling and swivels, received and shipped on November 11, 1889.
