serial #123085, 30 W.C.F., 26" nickel steel part round part octagon barrel with a good but evenly pitted bore.  The barrel and half length magazine tube bear a dark grayish brown mix in color with a few scattered specks of pitting and perhaps 25% thinning original blue finish remaining.  The forend cap and receiver on this 1898 manufactured takedown rifle are mostly a grayish brown mix with similar specks of faint pitting and about 15% original blue finish in protected areas.  The hammer and lever are mostly a grayish brown color with traces of mellowed original case colors present.  The capped uncheckered pistol grip walnut buttstock and forend rate about very good being sanded and refinished.  The arched lower tang appears a little proud.  The checkered hard rubber buttplate is a modern reproduction.  A very small hole has been added to the top tang just ahead yet still touching the rear stock mounting hole.  (2011-88) {ANTIQUE} [Dom Morin Collection]            (1400/1800) SOLD FOR $1610.00
