Winchester Model 1886 Extra Lightweight Takedown Rifle

serial #134480, 45-70 Govt., 22" nickel steel round barrel with a good bore having some rust and light pitting.  The barrel and magazine tube retain about 85% thinning original blue finish with a couple scratches and a few faint specks of pitting present.  The receiver and forend cap on this 1904 manufactured rifle retain 65% thinning original blue finish with the balance bearing a pleasing brownish gray patina.  The loading gate and takedown band have cold blue finish added.  The hammer retains strong original case colors mellowing slightly.  The lever still has strong case colors in protected areas.  The straight grip walnut buttstock and forend rate near excellent with light handling marks and 96% original varnish remaining.  The rear sight has been replaced with a slot blank and a Williams receiver peep sight has been added.  This rifle features the half length magazine tube and a hard rubber buttplate.  A couple screw heads are slightly misshapen.  (2011-31) {C&R} [Dom Morin Collection]  (1500/2500) SOLD FOR $2875.00
