Winchester Model 1886 Extra Lightweight Rifle

serial #128340, 45-70 Govt., 22" nickel steel round barrel with an excellent bore.  The barrel and three quarter length magazine tube retain 90% thinning original blue finish with some light scratches present.  The receiver on this 1902 manufactured rifle shows a pleasing brownish gray patina with some similar light scratches and perhaps 30% original blue finish remaining.  The hammer retains nearly all of its original case colors while the lever has visible case colors only in protected areas.  The straight grip walnut buttstock and forend rate very good with handling marks and an oil finish overall.  The checkered hard rubber buttplate has a crack in the toe section and has been reapplied with glue.  This rifle is equipped with a Lyman No. 4 ivory hunting front sight and a flat top sporting rear sight.  The forend cap screw heads are slightly misshapen.  (2011-36) {C&R} [Dom Morin Collection]  (1500/2200) SOLD FOR $2530.00
