serial # RE63922, 12ga. (3" chamber), 32" barrels choked full and full with bright excellent bores.  Barrels retain about 95% original blue finish, their flats are factory marked "Chambers/3/inches", the rib is equipped with target beads.  Frame and lockplates retain a nice 96% original vivid casecolors, with only minor fading at the front of the belly.  Triggerguard shows nearly all of its original blue.  The checkered walnut, pistolgrip buttstock rates about excellent with only minor handling marks, there are minor cracks beginning at the very rear of each side plate, likely relieving the wood slightly in this area would arrest the problem in short order. The splinter style forend rates excellent with a very minor crack on its right side ahead of the iron.  Length of pull is 14 1/4" with drops of 1 1/2" and 2 7/8".  Factory three-inch guns are a scarce commodity. Serial number records indicate this gun being manufactured in 1923, a year prior to the "Long-Range" and "Waterfowl" guns being catalogued; this is likely why the underlug shows neither marking.  An absolutely lovely "Elsie" in a very scarce configuration.  (1915-86) {C&R} [Ray Day Collection] (1800/2200) SOLD FOR $2070.00
