serial #98848, 22 Hornet, 24" barrel with an excellent bore.  The metal surfaces retain about 97% original, somewhat fading blue finish, the bulk of the loss due to bolt handle and receiver toning.  The checkered walnut Monte Carlo style stock rates excellent with only minor usage marks.  The rear sight has been replaced with a Lyman folding leaf style, and Q.D. swivel studs have replaced the factory swivels. An additional hole has been drilled and tapped on the rear receiver bridge between the two factory scope mounting holes.  Still a fabulous 1948 manufactured Hornet that should be taken afield once again.  (1915-54) {C&R} [Ray Day Collection] (1500/1800) SOLD FOR $1840.00
