serial #C17320, 50-70 Govt., 22" three groove barrel with a fine, bright bore. This carbine has an overall plum-brown patina with mild brown freckling along the entire length of the barrel and light pinprick pitting on the sling bar and ring. The mechanism is slightly loose but functional and the rear sight screw is a large brass replacement while the buttplate is cut for a not-present patchbox. The wood has a thick coat of added oil over numerous handling marks and blemishes, especially around the butt.
