serial # 8041, 22 LR, 10" barrel with an excellent, bright bore having traces of frosting starting to appear right at the chamber mouth. This pistol has matching numbers on the barrel, latch, extractor, and right side grip panel interior with the metal retaining 99% plus of the original blue that exhibits some barely discernible thinning at the muzzle and along some of the projecting edges. The only real blue loss occurs on the front sight blade which has had the target bead removed at some point. The hammer and checkered trigger both retain their strong, original case colors while the checkered, medallion target grips are in near excellent condition with the exception of a previous owner's Social Security number having been added to the butt on the left side panel (fortunately, this was done faintly). This is a wonderful example of an S&W Third Model pistol and rates near excellent condition overall. (1996-34) {C&R} (1500/2000) SOLD FOR $1495.00
