Colt Model 1908 Pocket Hammerless Pistol with US Inspector Markings

serial #134789, 380 ACP, 3 3/4" barrel with a fine, bright bore.  This pistol is one of the early, blanket procurement examples which were only stamped with the government inspector initials on the triggerguard, not with the usual "U.S. PROPERTY" marking.  The metal retains 98% of the original blue with a single small spot of freckling present on the right side of the slide just ahead of the ejection port.  The left side of the triggerguard has a crisp "G.H.D." (Guy H. Drewry) ordnance inspector stamp just under the Colt factory inspection stamp ("4").  The checkered wood medallion grips are in fine shape and exhibit very little wear and some mild flattening to the points.  A single two-tone magazine is included.  These pistols are not often encountered and this example rates excellent condition overall.  (2027-228) {C&R} [Stan Terhune Collection]  (2000/3000)
