54 Caliber, 33" barrel with a very good bore, lightly pitted at the muzzle.  This is an 1850 dated rifle which has an overall dark brown patina on the barrel and spots of light pitting, mostly at the breech, mid-point, and at the muzzle.  The lock has a mottled brown color with evenly scattered spots of darker freckling that is carried over onto the hammer.  The stock has nice, military oil finish over scattered light handling marks and bruises, heaviest along the underside of the forend.  The brass furniture has been lightly cleaned and now has a bright yellow patina.  This is a lovely Mississippi, still in its original caliber and not modified to accept a bayonet.  (1958-54) {ANTIQUE}  (1800/2200) SOLD FOR $1955.00
