Mauser Type B Sporting Magazine Rifle

serial #78663, 7 MM Mauser, 24" barrel with an excellent bore.  The metal surfaces retain about 98% restored hot immersion blue finish.  The classic style stock features a Schnabel forend tip and Oberndorf style side panels, there is no cheek rest.  The pistol grip has dual checkered panels, the forend is keyed to the barrel with a single wedge and tenons.  The stock rates excellent as professionally refinished, showing one or two filled dings.  The floorplate is lever-style release, all bottom metal shows lovely tight English style scroll, while the receiver rings, front and rear show lovely scroll and geometric matting. Stock and action may be married, as the bedding was once inletted for a long-step style barrel, however stock and metal are unmistakably Mauser.  Gun features barrel band sling swivel base, sporting ramp front with a dual folding leaf rear sight, gun currently has a nicely checkered single trigger, although was once equipped with dual sets.  The gun was professionally drilled and tapped for and inletted for a Lyman receiver sight.  This is an absolutely lovely B style sporter in a lightweight configuration and a fabulous caliber, restored to near as new condition.  (2045-6) {C&R}                  (1500/2000) SOLD FOR $1610.00
