serial #43491, 16 ga., 26 3/4" barrels choked modified and improved mod with very good plus bores, which are mostly bright but show some light scattered pitting in both tubes and a couple of minor dings. The barrels retain about 70% original fading blue finish. The lower frame and sliding breech are an overall pleasing silver casehardened pewter patina. The fences have been lightly chiselled into a foliate pattern. There is very light floral and foliate border engraving, as well the lower frame shows game scenes on both sides with dogs pointing or chasing game birds. The gun is stocked in a nice grade of French walnut, the forend is splinter style with a wraparound checkering pattern, the butt is straight grip with adjoining checkered panels. The gun seems to have quite a bit of drop, comb being 1 5/8", heel being 3 7/8" with a length of pull of 14 3/4" to the checkered butt. The gun features a manual safety on the left side of the frame. These are really lovely guns and are a great deal smoother than their counterparts made by Darne. (2014-1) {C&R} (1800/2200) SOLD FOR $1380.00
