Winchester Pre '64 Model 70 Alaskan Rifle

serial # C6410341, 6.5 x 300 Weatherby Magnum, 25" barrel with an excellent bore. This top-notch long-range rifle was built on a standard Remington model 700 BDL action utilizing a Douglas premium air-gauged barrel. The stock is a synthetic "Six Enterprises" classic style in satin black with a flared cheekpiece, action is glass bedded and barrel is of course, free-floated. The gun has been mounted with a Leupold Vari-X III 3.5 x 10-50 mm EFR rifle scope with adjustable objective. As back up, the gun is equipped with a Marbles streamlined front ramp and Lyman receiver sight, the scope is mounted with quick detachable Leupold rings and bases. The metal surfaces are overall satin blued and rate excellent, as does the stock. The 6.5 x .300 Weatherby is an excellent long-range cartridge for those wanting to shoot anything from groundhogs to antelope at much longer-than-average distances (excellent accuracy is reported out to 1500 yards). This rifle comes with a set of RCBS dies and 90 rounds of primed brass. Gun was built by gunsmith John Towell of Freedom, New Hampshire.
