serial #14504, 8 x 57JR, 22 3/4" part octagon part round barrel with a full rib, and an excellent bore. The barrel retains about 95% nice quality rust blue. The frame is a pewter gray patina and shows lovely fine scroll and floral engraving with game scenes on the flats. The classic style buttstock features a lovely checkered pistol grip with very thin tasteful black ebony diamond inlays at the rear of the cheeks, there is a rounded shadowline cheek piece and a bone pistol grip cap which has been scalloped. The butt wears a tastefully added extension with a lovely carved border at the point of attachment, giving a 14 1/4" length of pull. Forestock is very nearly full-length and terminates in a rounded bone forend tip; the forestock is actually two piece, the section directly ahead of the action detaches so the gun may be taken down. The European walnut stock is finished in a rich red-russet hue and rates excellent. Gun features a single standing rear with sporting front sights and also wears detachable claw mount rings which mount a Hensoldt-Wetzlar Dialytan 4X rifle scope with fine crosshair reticle and excellent optics. The extreme ends of the catch hooks on the rear ring have broken off at some point and must be repaired for the scope to be mounted, this would be a fairly simple job for any machinist or gunsmith of any talent. This is a lovely little stalking rifle overall equipped with cocking indicator and dual set triggers, as well as factory sling swivels.
