serial #433, 50 Centerfire, 29 5/8" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. The barrel is armory bright, only mild scattered freckling is visible. The breech and "1870/ (eagle)/ U.S." marked breech block retain 96% original blue finish with minor wear on the raised portion of the breech block. The lock plate and hammer have 90% case colors remaining, lock is marked with an eagle, "U.S./ Springfield" and with "1865" to the rear of the hammer. The two-piece triggerguard retains a bright appearance with some flecks of plum patina. A Model 1868 rear sight is present. The walnut stock is in near excellent condition overall exhibiting only minor handling marks with crisp "SWP" and "ESA" cartouches. A correct cleaning rod is present.
