Presentation Enfield Prize Rifle by London Armory Company

.577 caliber, 39" round barrel with a bright excellent bore. This fine quality rifle bears a 1 9/16" diameter silver medallion in left side of butt that is engraved "LADIES PRIZE / WON BY / C.M. BLADES / 1862" surrounded in scroll. The barrel bears a rich brown patina with scattered light surface rust overall and scattered light pitting for about the first half of the barrel. The lock is marked "1861 / L.A.Co." ahead of hammer and has crown over "VR" behind hammer. The lock is also brown and has scattered light pitting. The stock is of rich dark walnut and rates excellent with sharp checkering. Brass buttplate, triggerguard and forend tip all bear a lovely rich undisturbed patina. The silver medallion rates excellent. A really neat Enfield prize rifle. (1938-4) {ANTIQUE} (2500/3500)
