serial # 141634, 33 W.C.F., 24" nickel steel round barrel with a pitted bore. The barrel has the remnants of a second proof mark which has been washed out and was likely a mail order proof. The barrel and takedown collar show a grayish light brown mix. The remaining metal surfaces on this 1907 manufactured rifle retain 75-80% thinning blue finish with the belly and high edges bearing a dull gray color. The capped and checkered pistol grip fancy walnut buttstock rates near excellent having been lightly sanded, nicely refinished, and the checkering freshened. The checkered fancy walnut forend rates excellent. The front sight blade is a Redfield replacement and the rear sight has been replaced with a slot blank. A Lyman No. 66A receiver peep sight has been added. The unmarked serrated hard rubber buttplate is a period replacement having a small crack at the toe. The factory records confirm this configuration except for different sights and show a shipping date of 09-30-07. (1998-5) {C&R} (3000/4000) SOLD FOR $2875.00
