serial # 110623, 45-70 Govt., 22" nickel steel round barrel with a near excellent bore having some faint specks of pitting present. The tapered barrel and full length magazine tube retain 97% original blue finish. The receiver on this 1897 manufactured rifle retains 88-90% thinning original blue finish with a few spots of light pitting confined mostly to the right side. These spots have been lightly cleaned and touched up with cold blue finish. The hammer and lever retain 95% strong original case colors that have softened on the outer edge. The straight grip walnut buttstock and forend rate near excellent with an added coat of linseed oil. This rifle is equipped with a Lyman No. 4 ivory hunting front sight, a Lyman No. 6 folding leaf rear sight, and a Lyman No. 1A tang peep sight.
