serial #66285, 10 ga., 30" plain barrel choked (and marked) cylinder with a bright excellent bore. Metal surfaces retain about 90% original blue, the loss due to some wear on the barrel ahead of the magazine tube band (there are numerous very minor dings on the underside of the barrel in this area-- it appears as though someone tapped the magazine tube band forward and then tapped it back in place); and minor flaking with some small scratches on the receiver. The "WRA" marking on the left side of the receiver is rather faint however all lines are crisp and sharp, as are the Winchester proofs so it is likely just a light marking; the gun does not appear to ever have been refinished. The smooth round knob walnut buttstock rates very good, showing a chipped toe which was sanded over. The forend panels rate about excellent. There is a minor abrasion at the leading edge of the lever. Still a rather nice 1901 overall. Manufactured 1902. (2077) {C&R} (2000/2500)
