serial #3959, 405 Winchester, 24" barrel with a very good bore showing good rifling but very minor pitting its full length. The metal surfaces are an overall mostly smooth and pleasing deep blue-gray patina with toning to light brown and light pewter on the high edges. The leading edge of the magazine shows some minor pitting, there is some very minor surface oxidation sparsely scattered which has converted to a patina. The smooth walnut stocks rate very good showing the overall minor dings and dents that come from the years of use and also some darkening of the wood and varnish wear. Overall a really good example of this very desireable caliber. The included factroy letter indicates shipment in March 1904. An affordable, well used but cared for Big Bore '95.
