Winchester Model 1894 Lever Action Rifle

serial #3979, 30 WCF, 26" round barrel with full magazine and a very good bore. This early 94 rifle remains in excellent condition. The barrel retains 90% evenly thinning original blue finish. The magazine tube retains about 65% original blue finish with the balance blended to a smooth brown patina. The action retains 90-95% original blue. Fire blue on loading gate remains strong. Case color on hammer and lever has mellowed but remains visible. The plain walnut buttstock and forend rate very good with perhaps 70% original finish remaining. Left side of pistol grip has an old carved symbol which is 1/2" tall and resembles a "B". Rifle is equipped with a beaded blade Lyman front sight and a neat buckhorn rear sight with tops of "buckhorns" nearly touching. Rifle comes with factory letter confirming the configuration and showing a shipment date of August 9, 1895. A nice, honest and early 94 rifle with a good deal of original condition.
