serial #1486890, 30-06, 24" barrel with an excellent bore. This is a prewar rifle with 6-33 dated barrel and retains 98% of an armory applied parkerized finish with traces of silvering present on some of the projecting edges. The early type, straight handled, single heat treated bolt has a like amount of armory bluing with some silvering along the contact points. The stock and handguard have an excellent original military oil finish with both a crisp original "W.J.S." and prewar Springfield Armory "S.A./S.P.G." rebuild cartouches and only a few very minor handling marks. This is a fine Model 1903, refurbished just in time for war, and would make a handsome addition to any collection. (2027-284) {C&R} [Stan Terhune Collection] (1500/2500) SOLD FOR $2587.50
