Fine Remington Model 1863 Zouave Rifle

58 Caliber, 33" barrel with a fine, bright bore having some mild frosting near the muzzle. This rifle has an 1863 dated lockplate and 1863 dated, seven groove barrel which retains 97% of the original blue with scattered, very small spots of light freckling along the exposed metal. The hammer and lockplate have a smooth gray patina with muted, original case colors still visible, and the brass bands, triggerguard, patchbox, and buttplate are in fine shape with a consistent dull yellow-ocher tarnish. The stock has its original oil finish with some scattered handling marks and small surface blemishes, mostly visible along the underside and at the butt, as well as two crisp cartouches opposite the lock and a spare nipple in the patchbox. This is a fine condition Zouave overall and would make a fabulous addition to any Civil War collection. (1902-5) {ANTIQUE} (3000/4000) SOLD FOR $3450.00
