serial #94562, 52 Caliber Percussion, 22" barrel with a fine bore exhibiting light frosting within the grooves. This is a nice, matching numbered carbine which has 95% of the original blue remaining on the barrel and still strong case colors on the receiver. The bluing does have some mild fading at the muzzle and some very light freckling in small patches along the visible length as well as a shallow impact mark on the right side of the barrel which carries over into a matching, short gouge on the tip of the forend. All barrel markings are crisp and legible. The frame has a small amount of freckling along the top around the breech block and a single 1/4" long dent toward the bottom of the breech block housing on the left side. Additionally, there is a repaired linear crack along the bottom tang which passes through the lever latch. Again, all markings are crisp and the mechanism (including the pellet primer feeder) functions flawlessly. The wood has a fine military oil finish with some light handling marks on the forend and some large impact or handling bruises on the left side of the butt. The sling bar and ring are mostly mottled gray, but the wrist cartouches are fine with crisp definition ("TWR"/"TWR"). This is a fine, martially marked Sharps and would make a great addition to any collection. (1958-144) {ANTIQUE} (4000/5000) SOLD FOR $4312.50
