serial #54, .31 caliber, 3 1/2" barrel with an excellent bore. This is a very fine little Volcanic. The barrel retains 75% bright original blue finish with some scattered surface oxidation present. The top of barrel is marked "NEW HAVEN, CONN / PATENT FEB. 14 1854". The frame bears a lovely untouched patina with very crisp edges and just a little light staining on left side. Fire blue on follower, bolt and rear sight remains strong. Case color on hammer is vivid. The original two-piece walnut grips which are properly numbered to the pistol rate excellent with over 90% original finish remaining. This pistol comes in its original green pasteboard box which rates near very good with partially separated seams. This box was with the pistol when we received it and has been with the pistol all the time the present owner has owned it, the gun was purchased by his ancestor and has been in the family since it was new. A fabulous little Volcanic. (1967-1) {ANTIQUE} (10,000/15,000)
