serial #122993, 41 Colt, 6" barrel with an about excellent bore showing only a few very sparse, very minor pits. Barrel, cylinder and grip frame show about 95% original blue, with only some very minor oxidation staining on the cylinder, the backstrap fading slightly to brown. Trigger and hammer spine exhibit nice fire temper, the hammer "whites" are mostly bright with only minor staining. The frame retains about 96% original casecolors, the top strap and left recoil shield fading somewhat to brown. The checkered hard rubber Rampant Colt grips rate excellent. Gun times perfectly and locks up tight as a barrel head. Really a very nice Thunderer made in 1901. (1996-24) {C&R} (2000/2500) SOLD FOR $2760.00 |
