Stevens-Pope Ideal Number 44 1/2 Rifle

serial #12800, .33-40, 29 1/2" part round part octagon No. 4 weight barrel with a very good bright bore with just a little very light corrosion present. The barrel bears Stevens Pope serial #583, is fitted with scope blocks and has one extra pair of holes which currently have filler screws on top flat of barrel, under forend are several holes which have been filled. Original false muzzle which is numbered to the barrel is present. Rifle is equipped with adjustable double set triggers and large custom full loop lever along with a nice quality palm rest base. The barrel retains 90% original blue finish. The action shows some faded old restored case color. The checkered pistol grip walnut buttstock shows beautiful figure and has strong checkering with cheekpiece and retains 95% restored finish. Action tangs are little proud of the wood. The forend is likely custom and rates very good. Rifle features a windgauge front sight, no slot for rear barrel sight and a midrange Stevens sliding disc tang peep sight.
