serial #4714, .275 Rigby, 24" round barrel with a bright excellent bore. This is a splendid rifle. The action features lovely relief floral scroll engraving and is engraved with makers name left side "J. HARKOM & SON / EDINBURGH". The top of barrel is engraved "Shot and Regulated for Rigby .275 H.V.". The condition of his rifle is excellent with its barrel retaining about 95% evenly thinning original blue finish. The action retains 90% plus strong original color case hardened finish. The checkered pistol grip buttstock and horn tipped forend are of finely figured English walnut and rate excellent plus with 95% original finish remaining and hardly any handling marks. Rifle features a beaded blade front sight mounted on ramp and single standing and two folding leaf rear express sights graduated for 100, 200 & 300 yards. Rifle is equipped with original sling studs, engraved iron pistol grip cap and engraved steel shotgun buttplate which still retains 75% of its original blue finish. The rifle comes in a perfectly fitted leather and brass trimmed Brady case which has nice maker's label and includes cleaning rod and other cleaning implements, nickel oiler, leather muzzle gaurd and several boxes of ammunition. The .275 Rigby and the 7mm Mauser are identical cartridges by different names, ammunition for this rifle is readily available. A truly wonderful rifle.
