serial # 39303, 32-20 WCF, 7 1/2" barrel with an excellent bore. This lovely revolver retains about 96% original blue finish, the main loss being fading to brown on the front and back straps with minor high edge wear, most prevalent on the ejector rod housing. The blue overall retains a lovely high-gloss appearance with many very minor light scratches which have faded to brown. The checkered hard rubber Rampant Colt grips rate near excellent. The gun is equipped with a factory lanyard loop. The sides of the trigger exhibit nice fire-temper blue as does the hammer spine. The white polished hammer sides are excellent, the right side showing only minor staining. There are a few very minor impact marks on the barrel's left side above the ejector rod thumb piece. The gun times perfectly and locks up tight. A wonderful example owned and held in the Colt factory archives for many years. The gun comes with a factory letter which confirms configuration and congratulates the purchaser on owning a gun from the Colt factory collection. This gun is published in Wilkerson's book "Colt's Double Action Revolver Model of 1878", it is pictured on page 155. The head of the cylinder base pin is mildly marred.
