Winchester Model 1890 Special Order Half Nickel Takedown Rifle

serial #350615, 24" octagon barrel with an excellent bore. This 1908 manufactured factory plated rifle retains 95% factory nickel finish on the frame, breech block and buttplate with a small spot of surface oxidation visible on the right side of the frame. There is some odd freckling on the left side of the frame under the nickel, however the proof, serial number and other markings remain crisp with raised metal at their edges. The remainder of the metal parts retain 98% original blue finish showing slight silvering on the barrel edges, slide bar and hammer. The barrel features the "MOD. 1890-" designation. The checkered pistolgrip walnut buttstock and grooved forend are in fine shape, only a small handful of handling marks are visible and about 85% original finish remains. Truly an exquisite Special Order rifle in condition not often seen in any 1890. (1999-6) {C&R} (3000/4000) SOLD FOR $5750.00
