serial #31051, 375 H&H Magnum, 26" barrels with fine bores having some mild frosting within the grooves. This is a 1926 made rifle which features elegant, full coverage floral scroll engraving on the reinforced frame, and two leaf rear sight graduated at 50-200 and 350 yards mounted on a matted quarter rib with "folding moon" front sight. The barrels have 97% of a restored blue finish which has turned slightly plum in color and also has two discolored spots about halfway down the right side tube. The barrels and forend iron have patches of pitting scattered about on the areas covered when the gun is assembled. The frame retains 97% of a restored case colored finish with gray fading along the rear portion of the extended top tang, and added blue over light pitting on the triggerguard. The checkered splinter forend and pistol grip stock with rounded cheekpiece have a dark, added oil finish over relatively sharp points and many small handling marks and blemishes. A small crack has started on the forward portion of the pistol grip at the rear of the triggerguard bow and the escutcheon has a crudely engraved crown and "Y" which have been filled with cloisonne enamel. The length of pull measures 15" to a well worn, period recoil pad with drops of 1 5/8" at the comb, 2 3/4" at the heel. Included with the rifle is a 2006 Holland & Holland factory letter confirming the date and configuration. There is one small area of moderate pitting at the rear of the right lock and light pitting on the forend iron. This is an about very good condition Royal double overall.
