serial #242278, 16 ga. on No. 1 frame, 26" barrels choked improved cylinder and modified with bright, excellent bores. This is a very late Parker within about 200 numbers of what is considered to be the final gun produced, the barrels are date coded "RK" which corresponds to November of 1941. The condition of the shotgun is superb with its barrels retaining virtually 99% of their original blue finish. The action with typical "D" style engraving retains 99% original case color. The engraving remains very sharp and top lever bears all of its original cyanide case color. The checkered pistol grip buttstock and splinter forend are of very nicely figured walnut and rate excellent with 97% original finish remaining. The shotgun is fitted with a period vented red rubber pad with leather cover. The top of the buttstock shows a widow's peak inlet leading us to believe that this pad may have been added, a correct buttplate could be easily fit bringing this double back to original. This is a near perfect late Remington produced Parker shotgun. (2027-134) {C&R} [Stan Terhune Collection] (6000/8000) SOLD FOR $12650.00
