W. W. Greener Grade A40 Double Hammergun

serial #61792, 28 bore, 27" damascus barrels with 2 1/2" chambers Nitro proved for 5/8 ounce load and with bright excellent bores. Barrels have an inside diameter of .540" with choke constrictions of .021" and .024". This is a splendid little 1912 production shotgun which remains in stellar original condition. The action and locks feature lovely tight English scroll engraving in about 80% coverage. The barrels feature tasteful wedges of scroll engraving at breech and are engraved on top rib "W. W. GREENER MAKER 40 PALL MALL LONDON S.W. WORKS ST. MARY'S SQUARE BIRMINGHAM". The barrels retain 95% original brown finish which is just thinning slightly near breech and showing strong damascus pattern their entire length. The action and locks retain 98% brilliant original case color. Top lever and triggerguard retain over 95% bright original blue. The checkered straight grip buttstock and splinter forend are of wonderfully figured English walnut and are scaled perfectly with his delicate little double. The stocks retain 98% original oil finish and have excellent checkering which shows only the lightest wear with only a few flattened points. The stocks feature diamond shaped horn inlays at rear of each lock as well as a horn forend tip and grooved horn buttplate. Shotgun shows very little use, is very tight and has extremely crisp locks. Shotgun handles beautifully weighing 4 lbs. 11 oz with a 14 3/8" length of pull and drops of 1 9/16" and 2". Shotgun comes in what appears to be its original canvas covered makers case with label.
