serial #28204, 30 WCF, 26" octagon barrel full magazine with a very good but lightly frosted bore. This rifle is in a quite rare configuration with deluxe pistol grip stocks which are not checkered. The barrel and magazine retain about 95% original blue finish. The action retains about 40% original blue with loss being due to flaking and with areas where finish is flaked retaining a pleasing smooth brown patina. Case color on lever and hammer is brilliant. The highly figured walnut stocks rate excellent with 95% original "extra" finish remaining. Rifle is equipped with a Lyman beaded blade front and two leaf folding rear barrel sights along with a Lyman folding tang peep sight. The left side of lower tang is marked "4715 XXX", buttstock is marked with the same "4715" in the end grain under buttplate and also on bottom of buttplate inside. The buttplate retains strong original case color. Factory records confirm the configuration of this rifle showing the rifle being received on August 12, 1898 as a rifle, 30 caliber, octagon barrel, plain trigger, fancy pistol grip stock, takedown and being shipped the same day. A scarce and very handsome deluxe 1894 rifle. (2011-89) {ANTIQUE} [Dom Morin Collection] (3000/5000) SOLD FOR $6900.00
