Winchester Model 1886 Lever Action Rifle

serial #8007, 45-90 WCF, 26" round barrel with full magazine and a bright excellent bore. This is a lovely rifle. The barrel and magazine retain about 95% original blue finish with some light scratches on left side of barrel and magazine just ahead of forend cap. The action retains 90% plus vivid original case color with most lost being on forward belly of action where metal is turning to a pleasing smooth brown patina. The hammer, lever and forend cap all retain strong original case color. The plain walnut buttstock and forend rate excellent with 95% original finish remaining. Rifle is equipped with a special order smooth steel shotgun buttplate, there is a small chip of wood missing from right side of widows peak. Factory records list this rifle as: received in the warehouse on September 1, 1887, rifle, 45-90, round barrel, plain trigger, shotgun butt, "rifled like 45/70" and the rifle shipped on September 3, 1887.
