serial #1094634, 30 Carbine, 18" barrel with an excellent bore. This is an early carbine which is outfitted with the detachable slide spring housing and retains about 85% plus of the original parkerized finish which has faded gray along the exposed portion of the barrel as well as the exposed surfaces and contact points. The flat top bolt shows some silvering around the lugs but otherwise retains most of its original blued finish. The barrel is marked with both a small "W" stamp and Winchester proof and the subsidiary parts are all correct with the exception of the recoil plate, magazine release and the two rivet handguard. The stock exhibits some minor scattered surface marks and blemishes and has been converted to a low wood example with an added military oil finish. Still crisp ordnance wheel and "W.R.A./G.H.D." stamps are present on the right side of the butt and a crisp "P" proof is visible on the underside of the pistol grip. The carbine comes with a single "SW" marked, 15 rd. magazine, an original green canvas sling which has been theater improved by the addition of a sewn-in leather pad at the lift-dot snap, and metal oiler. This is a very good, nearly all original Winchester carbine which could be brought back to original fairly easily. (1956-1) {C&R} (1500/2000) SOLD FOR $1150.00
